Suzuki dates back to 1939 in Japan, but Suzuki cars weren't found in the American market until 1986. It was founded by Michio Suzuki in 1920 as the Suzuki Loom Manufacturing Company, and automobiles didn't enter the company's product line until after World War II. Suzuki SUVs are comprised of the compact, aging Grand Vitara (2.5-liter V6, 165 hp) and the midsize XL-7 which offers the availability of a third-row seat and a 2.7-liter, 185-hp V6.
